Justin is a dedicated and versatile Indigenous professional based in Ontario, who has a robust educational background and diverse work experience.
Justin’s professional and education experience spans across sustainability, consulting, renewable energy solutions, environmental engineering, and military leadership. Justin holds an undergraduate degree in environmental engineering from Western University, Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics, and a Master of Science in Management from Ivey Business School. This has helped him develop a comprehensive understanding of international business, energy, and environmental issues. Justin's notable global projects include developing wastewater engineering solutions in rural mainland China, consulting and implementing solid-waste technology solutions for major cities in Thailand and researching and publishing renewable energy economic politics while studying in Bergen, Norway.
His professional journey has equipped him with a unique blend of analytical, strategic, and leadership skills. Justin's previous experience within consulting has allowed him to specialize in Environmental Social and Governance (ESG), sustainability, and Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs), which involves facilitating and assisting organizations in integrating ESG considerations and Indigenous inclusion into their business practices. Noteworthy projects that Justin has worked on include the development of a RAP and facilitation strategy between Indigenous communities and Trans Mountain, an oil and gas company seeking to construct a pipeline across several Indigenous territories. Justin has also been involved in projects with major utility providers, such as SaskPower and their efforts in implementing Saskatchewan’s first small modular nuclear reactors.
Outside of Justin's professional life, he enjoys fencing, having competed at various domestic and international tournaments as a member of the Western University Men’s Varsity Fencing Team. Justin is also a licensed private pilot, regularly flying single-engine aircraft.
