Crystal Luxmore

Head Copywriter

Crystal Luxmore is a storyteller, communications and public relations expert. A citizen of the Métis Nation of Ontario, her grandparents were mostly settlers here (Scottish, French Canadian and English) as well as Anishinaabe and Métis from the Abitibi Inland Historic Métis Community. She is passionate about using her storytelling skills to help advance truth, justice and reconciliation on Turtle Island.

An award-winning journalist and magazine editor, Crystal has covered food and drink, lifestyle, real estate and renewable energy for over 20 publications in 15 years including The Globe & Mail, Toronto Star, Canadian Business and Chatelaine and ELLE magazine. Her first book, a graphic novel called Status, is being published by Scholastic in 2025. Currently, Crystal is working at the Department of Justice Canada on a storytelling project around the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People.

Crystal founded two small businesses in the tourism and beverage industries, where she consulted for major companies including BMO, Tory’s LLP and Labatt. She acted as a spokesperson for agricultural groups and beverage companies in national TV, radio and influencer campaigns. She served on the Board of Directors for the Native Women's Resource Centre in Toronto for five years, holding positions of Vice President and Chair of the Fundraising Committee. In 2013, she founded the Ontario Charity Hopspiel, a curling tournament that has raised over $60,000 for Indigenous women's centres and shelters in Toronto.
