Izaak Wapachee

Senior Consultant

Izaak Wapachee is a dedicated professional with mixed roots from the Eeyou Eenou Istchee and of Dutch Canadian heritage. Committed to advancing the well-being of First Nations communities in Canada, Izaak brings a diverse business background and expertise in financial analysis, economic & community development, and sustainability.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Guelph, a Business Administration Diploma from Humber College and possesses a strong foundation in finance, economics, and project management.

Throughout his career, Izaak has held pivotal roles, notably as Stakeholder Relations and Project Manager for the Cree Nation STEM Project, bringing higher education opportunities to the Cree Nation of James Bay Eenou Eeyou Istchee. His expertise as a financial analyst at the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres showcased exceptional budget management and financial analysis skills within collaborative cross-functional teams. Moreover, his leadership shone brightly during his tenure as Project Leader, Teacher, and Coordinator at the Ouje-Bougoumou Music Camp, where he adeptly managed course content creation, finances, and community engagement, playing a key role in revitalizing the Maamuitaau Festival.

Skilled in stakeholder consultation, grant writing, and policy analysis, Izaak is fluent in English and French, while also dedicated to learning Cree and Spanish. This diverse background, coupled with a passion for community development, positions Izaak Wapachee as an asset poised to contribute significantly to the advancement of Indigenous communities in Canada.

At Mokwateh he is working as a Senior Consultant aiding in the research, development and implementation of Reconciliation Action Plans for several key projects.
