Based in Ontario, Sandy Roberts brings 27 years of experience at the intersection of public finance, infrastructure development, and Indigenous economic participation.

As Director of Strategic Project Finance at the Ontario Financing Authority, Sandy led the development and administration of Ontario’s Aboriginal Loan Guarantee Program, which has placed loan guarantees across a portfolio of energy sector projects forecast to deliver $2 billion in dividends to Indigenous communities.

She was also a key architect of the Indigenous financing for the Wataynikaneyap Power transmission project, a $1.6B initiative developed in partnership with 22 First Nations.

Under Sandy’s leadership, the Ontario program has become a national model, with Alberta, Saskatchewan, BC, Manitoba, and the federal government all developing similar frameworks in its wake.

Sandy is motivated by work that moves the yardstick - where financial innovation and relationship capital combine to create lasting economic change for Indigenous communities.

Sandy holds a Master’s degree in Economics and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
